Jim Moody / Joe Bonamassa

Jim Moody / Joe Bonamassa

Jim Moody owner and Operator 79th Street Sound Stage and 79th Street Sound Stage Promotions.

In 2001 my brother Craig and I formed Route 66 Blues Project founded around our mutual love and respect for the blues. It was a not for profit organization affiliated with the Blues Foundation in Memphis. Ultimately, that led to promoting the blues and working with National Blues Acts like a young up and coming artist Joe Bonamassa. From those beginnings I have branched out to include many other acts such as Eric Johnson, Derek Trucks, Monte Montgomery, Tommy Castro, and Johnny A. The common denominator is usually mastery of the guitar.

In 2004 I saw the need for a rehearsal facility in north Oklahoma City. I converted some warehouse office space I owned and started renting rooms to local bands by the hour. That has since evolved into monthly rentals with additional rooms added. I have collected backline which is available for rent as well.

I have done numerous shows since the first one in 2003 from the Sooner Theatre in Norman, Rose State PAC in Midwest City and Tulsa’s Cains Ballroom. Most recently Derek Trucks at The Bricktown Events Center. I had a club exclusive at the Route 66 Road House and now I’m working with Oklahoma City Limits, a new club on S Eastern Ave, bringing master musicians and blues artists from across the nation as well as from across the sea into the Oklahoma Market.
